Randomness…

  • I have been an awful blogger lately. :(  I apologize; I love blogging but with a lot of things on my plate something had to go.  Promise to get back to regular blogging soon!
  • I officially started graduate school this week to work on getting my MBA.  Woot!  The drive to Des Moines twice a week for class will most likely get tiring but so far so good. :)
  • I get married in 2 weeks!  Crazy!!!
  • I had my final dress fitting today.  It looks perfect.
  • Heading to Chicago to visit my sister for the Labor Day weekend.  Can’t wait!
  • Work has been BUSY!
  • Thank goodness I love chaos.  Life is beyond chaotic right now.

That’s all.  How is everyone else doing?

Engagement Pictures!

Part of our picture package we purchased for our wedding was an engagement session.  I will not lie, I was VERY excited about this.  Not so sure Dan was.  For me, this was a chance to relive senior pictures all over again.  At 17, I didn’t really have much of a vision for what I wanted.  I wasn’t comfortable with my photographer so I just kind of walked around and did as he told me.  They turned out fine but I was always envious of the fun, creative shots that others had taken.

Fast forward 13 years to my engagement session. We met our photographer John in Downtown Des Moines this past Saturday.

*side note: As I was getting ready our electricity went out.  So needless to say my hair wasn’t exactly as I had pictured it being.  But alas, the show must go on*

It was the perfect day for pictures.  Sunny, warm (but not TOO warm) and just a slight breeze.  We made it right on time and got started immediately on pictures.  It ended up being one of the most fun mornings we had in a long time.  We spent the next 2 hours climbing up stairs, riding in elevators, climbing on walls, jumping in a dumpster and basically just laughing A LOT.  John had the best sense of humor and we were so relaxed with him that the day was everything I hoped for and more (take that senior picture day!).

Thank goodness John didn’t make us wait too long to get a small handful of the pictures that were taken.  Feel like checking some out?  Look at the blog at the following link titled “Danny and Amanda do Des Moines”

Another cool incentive that our photographer does is that we get 1.00 credit towards our pictures for every unique comment that someone leaves under this blog post.  Scroll down to the last picture and click on Comment and leave us a message!

And if you are ever in need of a photographer in Iowa definitely check out John.  I can’t say enough great things about him.  We are also very lucky that another cool perk of hiring John for our wedding is that we will never pay another session fee with him for any pictures we get in the future of us and our family.  We can look forward to many unique sessions in the future.

That’s a wrap.
